CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Your Breather will be exposed to a quantity of saliva during training. We recommend cleaning it daily, or even every use if you prefer. Do not put it in the dishwasher. The high heat cycle may damage the diaphragms and the dials and will void the warranty. Please wash it by hand in hot water with a small amount of mild dishwashing soap. Rinse your Breather well, shake off excess water, and air dry. If your Breather is thoroughly dried, it may be stored back in the package.
Product description
-
DRUG-FREE SOLUTION FOR IMPROVING RESPIRATORY FUNCTION: The Breather functions as a lung trainer (both for inspiratory and expiratory muscles), which supports respiratory efficiency by promoting diaphragmatic (belly) breathing. It strengthens the diaphragm (the major muscle of breathing) and the accessory muscles of the neck, develops strength and tone in the abdominal muscles, and keeps the airway clear of mucus.
-
LIGHTWEIGHT, PORTABLE, AND EASY TO USE: This lung / breathing exercise device has adjustable and independent inspiratory and expiratory pressure settings to adjust the levels of resistance for both inhalation and exhalation. It has a simple design with clear large dials and comfortable mouthpiece with excellent lip seal.
-
IMPROVES OXYGEN FLOW: The Breather is also a respiratory/lung trainer exerciser because it improves lung strength and capacity by increasing oxygen uptake to vital organs.
-
MADE FOR PATIENTS AND HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS: Patients suffering from COPD, asthma, and other respiratory conditions; neuromuscular diseases, vocal cord pathologies, dysphagia, and sleep apnea, as well as athletes, singers, and musicians can benefit from a breathing exercise device such as the Breather.
- NO PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED: But keep in mind that the Breather does not replace any of your medication. However, you might find that you need to use inhalers or bronchodilators less frequently. The Breather optimizes the distribution of drugs and reduces drug build up in the lungs, thus making them more efficient.
The Breather is the first drug-free evidence-based Inspiratory/Expiratory Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT) device used by patients with COPD, asthma, CHF, dysphagia, obstructive sleep apnea, neuromuscular disease, and other pulmonary conditions as well as athletes, singers, and musicians. It trains inspiratory and expiratory muscles independently.
Clinical benefits of RMT:
- Strengthens inspiratory muscles and expiratory muscles
- Promotes diaphragmatic breathing
- Generates improved airflow through vocal folds.
- Reduces shortness of breath
- Improves blood flow to resting and exercising limbs
- Helps in movement of hyolaryngeal complex
- Improves respiratory support for safe swallow function
- Improves protective cough and assists in airway clearance
The original Breather was launched in 1980. This new model was designed by therapists and builds from the success of the original Breather.
Breathing against resistance during respiratory muscle training (RMT) activates and strengthens respiratory muscles and improves health and quality of life by promoting regained activity and exercise tolerance.
